Rise and Shine Chess Club (grades 1-2 and 3-5)

Whether you consider yourself a beginner or intermediate player, join this club to meet and interact with other chess players in your school on a weekly basis. New players will learn the basic rules and strategies of chess.Tournament play is encouraged beyond the club, but not required. Players skill development will help them complete a full game (checkmate) or recognize a stalemate, set and use a chess clock during a game, and will be able to explain the rules of chess (movement of the pieces, checkmate, & stalemate).
