Community Garage Sale FundraiserCommunity EventsThe Mahtomedi Community Education Garage Sale encourages community members to donate items they no longer want to someone who can use them! This event is built to raise money for youth scholarships on the belief that giving out of generosity is more rewarding than selling for profit. All items at the garage sale are FREE* ($10 required donation at the door). Bring your own bags/box for the items you find to take home! Location: Wildwood Elementary Gym/Cafeteria *All donated items are Free with a $10 donation required at the door. All entry fees/donations will allow us to continue to offer Community Education scholarships to youth in Mahtomedi. Wednesday, July 29 | 8 am-6 pm: Donation drop off day ONLY. No registration required. Drop off of gently used/unwanted goods (i.e. clothing, kitchenware, toys, etc.) at Wildwood Elementary School. Please see the list of items below that we are unable to accept. Thursday, July 30 | 8 am-5:30 pm: SALE - $10 entry fee donation (required) No registration required. Friday, July 31 | 8-11:00 am: SALE - $10 entry fee donation (required) No registration required. - Doors CLOSE at 11:00 am Not donatable items: Furniture Exercise Equipment Mattress/Pillows/Bed frames TVs or other electronic items Large appliances (i.e. stoves, freezers, etc.) Car seats, cribs, baby furniture, etc. Hazardous materials and paints Medical supplies (i.e. crutches, portable toilets, etc.) Food and Beverages AutoParts Weapons Glassware (Vases, Drinking cups, etc.) Used cosmetics and hair products Gas powered tools Undergarments Ripped, damaged, stained items of any kind What are we looking for? *NEW* Bike Rodeo (prek-age 11)Community EventsGet ready to ride! Join us for a fun and educational Bike Rodeo. This event is designed to teach kids preK-age 11 essential bike safety skills in a fun, hands-on environment. Riders will rotate through a series of activity stations focused on biking safety, obstacle navigation, and other skills. Watch out for more information to come on specific participating organizations. Whether your child is just learning to ride or already cruising the neighborhood, the Bike Rodeo is a great way to build confidence and encourage safe biking habits. Mahtomedi Community Theater: Rodgers & Hammerstein's “Cinderella”Community EventsA Summer Musical Experience for Ages 12 and older! This summer, Mahtomedi Community Education invites you to be part of our second Community Theater Musical, guided by Director Renn Joslyn. In an atmosphere filled with kindness, creativity, and just a touch of theatrical magic, you’ll join fellow performers on a journey of discovery. Together, you’ll shape heartfelt characters, find the music in your voice, learn dances that swirl and shimmer, and craft enchanting moments destined to delight audiences of all ages. Become part of the story as we bring a beloved Broadway favorite to life onstage. From the hopeful excitement of auditions to the final bow on closing night, you’ll immerse yourself in every wondrous step of the production. Along the way, our cast will gain hands-on experience in acting, singing, and dancing. Or sign up for the crew and enjoy set, props, and costume creation. All the artistry that makes musical theatre feel a bit like magic! No matter your experience level, you’ll find a welcoming home in our production. In our supportive and inclusive community, every person has the chance to grow, shine, and discover strengths they never knew they had. And when the curtain finally rises, you’ll feel the thrill of sharing a story with your community—knowing that you helped create something joyful, meaningful, and utterly unforgettable. Come join us, and let this summer become its own kind of fairytale. Auditions for All Acting Roles: June 11th, 6-9pm - Auditions will include acting, singing, and dance components. Audition materials will be emailed to all registered participants. A Callback Audition will be June 12th 6-9pm - If we need to see more before making our decisions, we will invite you to the callbacks to get us another taste of how amazing you are! All auditions will be held at the Chautauqua Fine Arts Center. Cast and Crew Lists will be created and distributed on June 13th. REGISTRATION DEADLINE June 4th - NO audition fee. After you have registered for auditions, you will receive an informational packet via email. PLEASE READ THIS INFORMATION PACKET BEFORE REGISTERING FOR AUDITIONS! REHEARSALS: Monday, Thursday, and Friday evenings June 15th - August 7th 2-3 rehearsals per week for all "named" roles 1-2 rehearsals per week for all "ensemble" roles Dress rehearsals for all cast and crew on Monday, August 10th, Tuesday, August 11th, and Wednesday, August 12th. (No rehearsals July 1st - 8th) Crew sessions are scheduled after seeing the availability of all crew members, and may include some Saturdays. You're invited to our very first Pet Extravaganza -- a fun-filled community event celebrating our furry friends! Join us for the Pet Parade at 5:30 p.m. on Fields 9 & 10, where costumes are encouraged and the top three best-dressed pets will receive special prizes. You will also have the opportunity to explore booths from local shelters, pet stores, groomers, trainers, and more. LittleBoy Kitchen Food truck will be there, too! If you are bringing a participating pet, registration is required. All other attendees are welcome to just come and enjoy the fun! Puzzle Competition (teams of four, ages 9+)Community EventsGrab three of your favorite puzzle loving friends or family members to complete the same 500 piece themed puzzle. Show off your strategic planning and problem solving skills as your team races to complete their puzzle in the timed, two-hour event. Prizes awarded to the top three teams. Set-up and prep time is from 5-5:15 p.m. All teams must be checked in by 5:15 p.m. Teams will keep the puzzle at the conclusion of the event. Designed for ages 5 and up, each youth must be accompanied by an adult. No experience or equipment is needed—we’ve got you covered! Rain or shine, come dressed for the weather and enjoy a great outdoor adventure close to home. Please register ONLY your student. With every youth registration, an adult must be present.
