Student Drivers Education

Learn defensive and distraction-free driving! Mahtomedi Community Education partners with A+ Driving School to offer students 14-years or older 30 hours of Minnesota state-approved classroom instruction. The curriculum includes education in a variety of areas such as the financial impact of poor driving, at-fault accidents, liability, and others to illustrate to young drivers the consequences they could face when operating a vehicle. 

Easy make-up classes are available! Once you’ve finished the 30 hours of classroom and received your blue slip, you are eligible to take the 40-question permit test on one of the computers in the office at A+ Driving School in White Bear Lake. Use this link to schedule.

Fee: $450 - Payment plans are available.

Two learning opportunities are available to register for Student Drivers Education:

In-Person at Mahtomedi High School:

Mondays-Thursdays, November 2nd-17th, 3-6pm

Online Self Paced:

A+ Driving School has designed our own comprehensive 30-hour on-demand self paced class with the Minnesota student in mind. Our industry leading video series utilizes our proven teaching methods that will keep the student engaged throughout the learning process.

Students may start classes anytime and take all 30 hours at your own pace up to 3 hours per day, within six months of starting. Students will receive a study guide and have access to 24/7 instructor support. This program contains hands-on activities to reinforce information and is approved by the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, created by Minnesota Licensed Instructors.
