Wrestling (co-ed preK-grade 5)WrestlingGain physical training in endurance, strength, speed, flexibility and coordination, while learning wrestling, one of the newest and fastest growing sports in Mahtomedi. Discover takedowns, pins, escapes, reversals and defensive moves. Wrestling is a universal conditioner for a myriad of sports and can enhance the skills of competitors in football, hockey, basketball, lacrosse, soccer, track, cross-country and more. Cost includes a t-shirt. Participants will be involved in a short program before an upcoming Zephyr Varsity match (date TBD).2026 Fall -
Wrestling Team (co-ed grades 6-8)WrestlingMiddle School Athletic Teams participate in, and policies are set by, the Metro East Middle School Conference. Team sports are offered to grades 7-8 Individual sports (i.e. cross country, wrestling, track & field) are offered to grades 6-8 Students are transported to away competitions pending bus availability. Program will not meet on No School days. REGISTRATION DEADLINE Thursday October, 15. Registration closes when program maximum is met. No refunds issued after October 15 deadline. If space permits, registrations will be accepted after October 15 and a $15 late fee will be assessed. All skill levels are welcome. Students will practice and compete against students with similar experience, skill, size and abilities. Gain physical training in endurance, strength, speed and flexibility while learning wrestling. Discover takedowns, pins, escapes, reversals, and defensive moves. Transportation will normally be provided to and from competitions, typically one match per week. Parents may be asked to provide transportation to and from certain matches. Competition schedules will be available shortly after the program begins. Students must provide their own wrestling shoes, shorts and t-shirts for each practice. The program will provide headgear and match uniform of fitted shorts and a shirt, which will be returned at the end of the season.Fridays will be an optional practice day.2026 Fall
