Get ready for a spooktacular after-school treat! In this hands-on cookie decorating class, students will design and decorate ten festive fall and spooky themed cookies to take home and show off! Using marshmallow fondant and royal icing, participants will learn basic decorating techniques while bringing festive designs to life. No experience needed. All materials provided.

Are you ready to unlock your inner artisan? Join us for a Specialty Silver Smithing Ring workshop! Create 3 beautiful sterling silver stacker rings in a combination of different styles. You will learn how to create a rounded, decorative and hammered sterling silver ring.

Join us for a guided meditation class designed for both beginners and experienced meditators. Each session begins with a brief teaching on the evenings meditation focus and simple ways to bring meditation into everyday life. We then move into a quiet guided mediation to create stillness and inner connection, ending with a group mediation centered on love and collective healing for our world. Attendees are also invited to share reflections in a supportive space. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat, blankets or pillows - anything that will help you feel warm and relaxed during class. Chairs will be provided.

This group class will help older adults regain strength, balance and flexibility to reduce falls and increase independence. Classes are taught by nationally certified fitness professionals, all trainers have been certified in the Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program (AFEP). The Arthritis Foundation certification indicates that your trainer has had additional training to help adapt exercises and movements to better accommodate those participants who have arthritis. Mahtomedi Community Education partners with A+ Driving School to offer students 14-years or older 30 hours of Minnesota state-approved classroom instruction. The curriculum includes education in a variety of areas such as the financial impact of poor driving, at-fault accidents, liability, and others to illustrate to young drivers the consequences they could face when operating a vehicle. Easy make-up classes are available! Once you’ve finished the 30 hours of classroom and received your blue slip, you are eligible to take the 40-question permit test on one of the computers in the office at A+ Driving School in White Bear Lake. The Page Turners Challenge started as a summer literacy program with author visits, challenges and games, group discussions, incentives and prizes, and books included with registration. This fall, in partnership with MahtoREADi, students will receive the book Meet Me Halfway by Anika Fajardo, to read prior to her visit to Mahtomedi Middle School. During this session, students will participate in small group facilitated conversations about the text they read, interact in an author visit and discussion, enjoy a snack, and engage in fun competitions and challenges with incentives. This program is held at Mahtomedi Middle School, but there will also be an opportunity to earn more incentives and extend learning at Wildwood Library! The Viewers Like Us Club is a free and thoughtfully curated program from Twin Cities PBS (TPT) designed to bring adults together around meaningful media. It’s like a traditional book club but swaps out the latest best-selling novel with award-winning programs from your local PBS station. Attendees, will participate in a 2-hour sessions that includes:An introduction to the topic, viewing a selected PBS program (30-60 minutes, all with captions), guided group discussion, post-viewing reflection and resources to deepen understanding and connection A light snack and Twin Cities PBS-branded giveaways that help create a shared experience. The sessions are designed to spark conversation, encourage reflection, and foster community connection. Walking has proven benefits for physical and mental health - and it's even better when the walk includes members of the community! Join for a weekly walk on Thursdays at 9 AM. Walks will begin at the District Education Center.*All dates are subject to change and will be communicated via email to people who are registered.Walks are typically 45-60 minutes, with the option to shorten or extend the walk. The goal is to make the walk accessible for different levels of endurance. Routes may vary based on group preference and weather. Friendly dogs are welcome! Gain physical training in endurance, strength, speed, flexibility and coordination, while learning wrestling, one of the newest and fastest growing sports in Mahtomedi. Discover takedowns, pins, escapes, reversals and defensive moves. Wrestling is a universal conditioner for a myriad of sports and can enhance the skills of competitors in football, hockey, basketball, lacrosse, soccer, track, cross-country and more. Cost includes a t-shirt. Participants will be involved in a short program before an upcoming Zephyr Varsity match (date TBD).
